Taj Green

Taj Green is a stone of rich, deep green, layered with natural mineral variation.

Bold yet timeless, it brings strength, depth and character to any space.

Quarried in Rajasthan, India, Taj Green is a natural green marble recognised for its deep, luxurious tones and distinctive movement. Also known in the trade as Indian Green Marble, Udaipur Green and Verde Guatemala, it is one of the most sought-after green stones in contemporary design. Its darker palette and natural mineral variation make it a confident feature stone. It pairs beautifully with natural timbers, warm metals and lighter surfaces for contrast, especially white marble.

The Design Palette's Taj Green marble mosaics bring this rich stone into refined, architectural formats. KitKat, 48mm hexagon, 30mm penny round, long herringbone and tumbled tweed herringbone designs sit alongside Taj Green and Carrara combinations in Geo and Notre Dame patterns. Each brings depth and colour to kitchen splashbacks, bathroom feature walls, powder rooms, bars and hospitality interiors. Based in Sydney and supplying projects across Australia, we work with architects, interior designers, builders and homeowners who want natural stone with richness and presence.

TAJ GREEN

ORIGIN + History

Taj Green comes from Rajasthan in north-west India, the heart of the country's natural stone tradition. It is quarried in the region around Udaipur, the city of lakes and palaces, where stoneworking has been a craft for generations.

Formed deep within the earth over millions of years, its rich green colour comes from natural minerals held within the stone, and the movement across its surface records the geological forces that shaped it.

Rajasthan's marble has shaped some of the world's most celebrated architecture. The white marble of the Taj Mahal was quarried at Makrana in Rajasthan, the connection that inspires this stone's name. Taj Green carries that heritage into contemporary design: a green with real depth, grounded, luxurious and enduring.

At The Design Palette, we see Taj Green as a stone for spaces with presence. It remains beautiful for decades, gaining character over time rather than wearing out. In a design culture of constant replacement, that endurance is its own form of sustainability.
